Description

Polysorbate 20 is a high HLB emulsifying agent consisting of laurate esters of sorbitol consisting of the monoester condensed with ethylene oxide (polyoxyethylene-20 sorbitan monostearate). It helps water and oil combine. It is commonly used to solubilize or introduce an amount of fragrance, essential, or Plant oils to formulations.

Polysorbate 20 Functionality:
  • Excellent Solubiliser
  • Non-Ionic
  • Emulsifying efficacy is increased when combined with cetyl alcohol or sorbitan stearate
  • Anti Static Thickener

Appearance: Amber, viscous liquid, odorless.
Saponification value: 45-55.
Solubility: Soluble in water & alcohols, insoluble in oils.
HLB Value: 15
Use: Oil-in-water emulsions
CAS: 504-63-2
Usage rate: 1 – 10%. For external use only.
