D Alpha-tocopherol is a strong antioxidant, great for stabilizing formulas that contain actives like retinol, l ascorbic acid, kojic acid, oils, and butter. Vitamin E is known to be a fat-soluble antioxidant that has the capability to neutralize endogenous free radicals. It may also help protect the skin from ultraviolet irradiation.
This contains only d alpha tocopherol isomers present in vitamin E, there are four isomers present in Vitamin E, alpha-tocopherol, beta-tocopherol, gamma tocopherols, and delta-tocopherol.
Vitamin E is used in skin creams and lotions as it is believed to play a role in encouraging skin healing and reducing scarring after injuries such as burns.
